Michael Barson will present another fascinating look at historic Pop Culture as he discusses his book, The Red Menace which covers the history of how Americas fear of Communist incursions from the 1940s through the 1960s was reflected in our popular culture— movies, television shows, radio programs, books, comic books, and even children’s games.

Michael Barson has a Master’s degree in Popular Culture and a PhD in American Culture and has written extensively on popular culture in his 12 other books. Michael explored the History of the American Teen in his illustrated book Teenage Confidential. Copies of Michael’s book will be available to purchase and sign following the presentation for all those interested.
