Calling all young explorers! Join us for a hands-on adventure into the world of rocks and crystals. Kids will dig, discover, and investigate a variety of hidden treasures.
Dress for a little mess. Real explorers don’t mind getting their hands dirty!

T/weens (entering Grade 4+) are welcome to participate. Please bake your own cupcakes in advance, and practice your decorating in the days prior if you choose.
At the event start, you will have 30 minutes to frost and decorate your three cupcakes in any way you choose. The theme is “Unearth a Story” named after the 2026 Summer Reading Theme.… 
Join Miss Julieann for a silly dinosaur themed concert, featuring a sung reading of her new book, There’s A Dinosaur At My Door. Full of dinosaur themed movement songs, this interactive and engaging show will get kiddos singing, stomping, and roaring.
This Unearth a Story summer reading event is generously sponsored by the Friends of Kimball Library.… 
Youth ages 8 and up are invited to design and paint their own unique ‘guardian dinosaurs’ using acrylic paint. Ms. Cinda will guide you with some tips and tricks while you’ll have complete control over your dinosaur. The only limitation is your imagination!
Please respect our age groupings for these classes or talk with Ms Kathy or Ms Tori before signing up. Remember that creativity can be messy and dress… 
Step back in time to the age of dinosaurs for an interactive, puzzle-filled escape room experience at the library! Participants will work in teams to solve a series of prehistoric-themed challenges, crack hidden codes, and unlock clues before time runs out.
Please only register for one time slot.
