Has your child graduated from the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten and looking for a new way to track their reading? Reading Dragons and Friends is a fun way to motivate kids to build positive reading habits. This program levels the playing field for readers of any ability by rewarding them for the time they spend reading. This is a great program for children who love to read as well as those who find reading difficult by making it into an exciting game.
So what are Reading Dragons and how do they motivate kids to read?
Reading Dragons are collectible playable cards featuring mythical creatures like dragons, unicorns, griffins and more. Children track the time they spend reading in 15 minute increments until they reach an hour. After each hour, they can bring in their tracker to the Children’s Librarian to choose their next creature family. Children can read at their own pace for a total of 4 hours each month. They can play games with the cards they collect with their friends as soon as they sign up.
Register in person at the Children’s Desk only.
