Featured Artist: Cinda Gregorio ~ Artwork on Display through the month of August 2025

We are excited to share the wonderful artwork and craftsmanship of Cinda Gregorio with the Atkinson community. The images featured in the exhibit began as black and white photographs taken during travels through the Middle East.

Cinda then used a technique she adapted from early black and white photographs which were hand-colored before the invention of color film. Adding transparent gel to the oils makes the colors transparent. Colors are then layered on while allowing the photographic details to still be seen. Cinda finally uses photographic colored pencils to enhance details. Some examples of the black and white photographs before the hand coloring are included in the exhibit.

Across the lobby in the glass case, are pieces of jewelry Cinda created. The pendants are antique silver pieces from Morocco and the antique beads are from Africa.

You can enjoy Cinda Gregorio’s artworks in the Library Meeting Room and Lobby through the month of August.
