Join us for a hands-on dinosaur volcano class! Kids will sculpt a volcano using a pinch-pot technique, add a glowing surprise inside with a battery-operated candle, and create a dinosaur attached to the outside of their volcano. Once the air-dry clay is complete, students will paint their sculpture with acrylics, bringing their prehistoric scene to life. It will be ready to take home by the end of the class.

Step back in time to the age of dinosaurs for an interactive, puzzle-filled escape room experience at the library! Participants will work in teams to solve a series of prehistoric-themed challenges, crack hidden codes, and unlock clues before time runs out.
Please only register for one time slot.
This event will be offered twice over the summer. The program will be the exact same on both days.

Almost everyone knows the story of the Boston Tea Party, but did you know that when the colonists stopped drinking tea due to taxation they instead turned to drinking chocolate? Infamous American patriot Paul Revere even crafted dedicated drinking chocolate pots. Boston and the state of Massachusetts have many historical connections to chocolate that continue on from that point in time, including being the home of the very first chocolate… 
Using a trowel (toothpick), carefully chip away the dirt without picking up the cookie. Now, what will we do with the little pieces when we’re done?

Lindsay is back with her puppet pals! Who will she bring by this time? Lindsay Aucella’s comedic animation and timing, high energy, and uncanny knack for silly voices electrifies young crowds (and mastery of gentle crowd control will bring them back!) She believes the visual and interactive nature of puppetry can access the imaginations of even the youngest children. Through thoughtful storytelling she hopes to inspire creative play and pro… 
Youth ages 8 and up are invited to design and paint their own unique ‘guardian dinosaurs’ using acrylic paint. Ms. Cinda will guide you with some tips and tricks while you’ll have complete control over your dinosaur. The only limitation is your imagination!

Discover the giants of Earth’s past through fossil digs, ancient bones, and captivating stories. Join us at the library for a live, virtual presentation on the dinosaurs that walked the Earth before us. After the presentation we will conduct our very own Dino Dig. All youth participants will go home with a real fossil.
