On display from Saturday, March 1st – March 29th is the artwork of Robert Fortunato.
Robert has always been involved with art and music. He attended Yale University earning a degree in Engineering and Applied Science and then subsequently, earned his Medical Degree in Radiology from University of Virginia.
Bob studied the violin from age 7 and was concert master of his high school, district orchestras and the Longwood Symphony in Boston. He is currently concertmaster of the Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra.
He has always pursued art & music with equal energy. When in fifth grade he was allowed to skip class to work on a large mural in the hallway of his elementary school.
He went on to study with prominent Rockport artist John Caggiano for several years. Following retirement, he began studying photorealistic painting fairly intensively and the paintings displayed at this showing are all from this most recent period. Bob is interested in depicting landscapes with dramatic effects or interesting coloration, although an occasional cheeseburger and fries or martini glass creeps in now and then along with Misha the wonder cat.
