In April we celebrated the 55th annual Earth Day 2025 celebration which was first held in 1970. Earth Day has always been a day of celebration to acknowledge our planet, which provides for us, and learn the ways we can protect and preserve its beauty. The day includes a wide range of events coordinated globally throughout 193 countries.

About the Author:  Duncan Watson grew up in Northern California but found his home in New England, where he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s in Resource Management from Antioch University New England. As Assistant Director of Public Works for the City of Keene, NH, Watson has seen firsthand the challenges and opportunities of modern recycling and waste management.
